  Want to know why people accept evolution ?

  do you have questions about or want to understand evolution?

  it is a difficult concept to communicate and so if it is not explained well , it is understandable that we would dismiss it.. i sincerely want to talk with people who want to learn more or see what all the fuss is about.

  we are all learning and increasing our knowledge all the time and it is good to go over facts with critical eye.. evolution we can discuss, looking at the foundational facts and evidence, one at a time for you to go and check, agree or disagree with and return.. no pressure to accept it, you can decide for yourself, also no mocking etc of what you have to say.. .

  Wait a minute here.....

  Lion & Tiger... hmmmm "cat family"... that is realistic that they could breed...

  Same thing with Mule and Hinny... "horse family"

  Just because a line "ends," becomes 'sterile', 'drifts apart' does not automatically say "hey, they all came from one thing"

  In fact, to me, it means "less variety", they can only breed with those of their "family."

  No one has ever explained how a bear, raccoon, cat, whatever, can become a porcupine? hmm.... quillls, throwing them, etc. Ok, one piece of fur becomes a quill... Then, a million years later, another pice of fur becomes a quilll... then that family of "quill creatures" dies off... Start over... How many quills does a porcupine have? 30,000.

  Not that I believe in a "God" anymore, however, I do see evidence of design.... So, let's say I believe in "an inventor." Not that I have all the answers, nope... but I won't accept theories or guesses or assumptions or leaps in logic any, any, more. Science will be put to the test, taken to task, just like the WT.

  The watchtowers biggest mistake

  the moment the leadership of the wt (a publishing company whose purpose was originally to produce pamphlets and books to edify christians) first made the claim to be gods sole channel of communication for dispensing biblical truth here on earth.

  that not so discreet assumption has now left them wide open to 'everything they teach as truth'.

  as a result, every time an error is exposed or a teaching is changed, their credibility will continue to be affected.

  articles such at "100 years of kingdom rule" in which jehovah has 'in a sense' begun ruling as king, and jesus in a sense was made king.

  even though the kingdom hasn't actually come.

  it's not clear if the 1,000 year reign has began or not, if so only 900 years left of jesus rule?

Either the WT can point out the TRUTH about that they were completely SURE what was going to happen in 1914 and see their socalled predictions were false, OR say they foretold 1914 years in advance, they had no idea what was going to happen, but they knew something was going to happen. EVERYBODY SIGN UP!!! Infact, I predict that tomorrow something is going to happen, I don't know what, but it is significant and if you turn on the news, you'll see it's true, something will happen!

  Im new and need help!

  hello everybody, before i begin i just wanna say that i have really found alot of great posts on here that have been helpful forme , theres definitely alot of brilliant people here!.

  i am a born in jw(24 years old) ive been baptized for 7 years and was a ministerial servant for 4 years(i am no longer one).

  recently me and my parents have have woken up to ttatt(about 2 months ago).

  That is so true Batman!

  (what just kidding said is so true)

  We met a guy who had been "out" & DF'd for 20 years, but he kept feeling like he might need to come back, tho he never thought he would. So, he never got married, tho he wanted to, and had this circular reasoning for twenty years, never 'going' anywhere in his batmobile...

  Someone I know had nightmares about 'returning.' Nightmares that they would somehow be drug back into the religion, that his parents would return, and the nightmare would keep going... The WT digs deep into brains, making it hard for some to ever forget.

  Start anew with a freshoutlook...

  Give yourself a couple of years to get your head on straight, to know what you really desire, what you reallly think (your own thoughts, not WTBS) and just breathe....

  Life does go on, it changes, it gets better.

  OK, so, now we have turtles..

  How did THIS turtle "think" / "get" this worm tongue? Did he "need it"? No, there are lots of other turtles that "survive" w/o it.

  Once he "got" this 'worm tongue', he had to survive to pass it on to his kids... But maybe he didn't find a mate, and died off before he could, or maybe his gene pool did not let him pass this gene on, and his kids did not inherit it...

  How did he learn to use it? Did he even know he had it? and how did his kids learn?.... etc.

  Any ideas? Explanations?

  I would love to hear.......

  this list shows the list of verified oldest people alive.

  technically, articles in the 1960's and even in the 1980's indicated that "this generation" meant people born before 1900.. 5 more people, and we can officially celebrate another failed wt prophecy.. when i was "in" i thought that the wwi veterans had to die.... they're all dead... all of them... not a single person on earth now can tell you what happened when they served in wwi.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/list_of_last_surviving_world_war_i_veterans_by_country.

  Next thing I say is, "Well, no one knows the day and the hour, I will have more time to help people learn the truth"

  That is how cognitive dissonance & propaganda work.

  24 / 25 is still young, surprise, surprise (wait until you are 50, 60, 70)

  not sure of the point of telling my story, but just got off the phone with my grandma and i am so angry, stressed and i don't know what else...i guess i just wanted to hear from someone other than my husband that i'm not crazy for my reaction to family interaction.. my condensed story gramatical errors and all :).

  father was a born in jw, mother was a convert.

  i was born the last of 3 siblings and shortly after my birth in 1981 my parents divorced.

  sometime soon, we are to be "announced" as "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses".

  well, that's what you get for testifying against "glorious ones.".

  question is: will this kind of announcement be made the week of the co visit?.

  Dear Jhine.... just so you "know" haahaaa (I have to leave for work pretty fast, so here is the boiled down version)

  Someone we know, who we have helped, was going to show up at the hall, and stick up for us... Stand up, telll em all to you know what, in a nice way haha... but, when he arrived, his mom (still a dub) pulled the "you are going to give me a heart attack" card.... He relented, called us "wellllll, for my mom's sake, and my mom's sake only, I didn't do it."

  He called right before I left.... But, I was going to be there to watch the action... I couldn't just "listen", but since there w/be no action, and my son also said "don't give them the power," I stayed home....

  It WAS the night of the CO, they called the new Bethel Boy elder to "the stand" and with a microphone and a stage he had "the power' to DF whomever he needed to.
